About The UNESCO Courier

UNESCO's magazine since 1948.
Last update:12 October 2023

In 1948, the first issue of The UNESCO Courier rolled off the presses in Paris. One of the world’s first international journals had been born.

Since then, UNESCO's quarterly magazine has brought its readers local perspectives on global issues from some of the world's leading thinkers. While it has changed a great ideal over the years, both in content and in form, it pursues its original mission: to promote UNESCO's ideals, maintain a platform for the dialogue between cultures and provide a forum for International debate.

Available online since March 2006, The UNESCO Courier serves readers around the world in the six official languages of the Organization (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish), as well as in Catalan and Esperanto. A limited number of issues are also produced in print.

The UNESCO Courier has been published since 2017 thanks to the support of the People's Republic of China.
